Movie Review 2012

OMG - Oh My God

Medium : Hindi
Starring : Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, Mithun Chakravarthy, Mahesh Manjrekar, Om Puri, Poonam Jhawer, Govind Namdeo, Lubna Salim, Nikhil Ratnaparkhi
Director : Umesh Shukla
Music : Himesh Reshammiya, Sachin - Jigar
Bg Score : Amar Mohile

OMG - Oh My GodThe tag line of the new hindi movie 'OMG' alias 'Oh My God' is very interesting. It says, "Kanji Bhai is taking God to court". Another poster tells, "Kanjibhai v/s God". More over the promotional trailer of the movie in Salman Khan's voice was good enough to give a clear idea about the theme of the movie, where Paresh Rawal comes in the role of Kanji Bhai. Such an unique subject will give the same interest in watching the movie.

Puthiya Theerangal

Medium : Malayalam
Starring : Nivin Poly, Namitha Pramod, Mallika, Nedumudi Venu, Innocent, Sidhiq, Sidharth Siva, Dharmajan, Chembil Asokan, M.R.Gopakumar
Director : Satyan Anthikkad
Music : Ilayaraja

Puthiya TheerangalWe can't make the viewers happy all the time, if there are nothing new to offer in a movie. This one is a perfect saying for Satyan Anthikkad's new venture  'Puthiya Theerangal'. We don't want him to travel with the new generation trend, but give at least a twist in the story line. Usually, when some of my friends, acts against the family movies given by the same director in the recent past, I defend them by saying that no need to blame him, even though his movies are usual, it is welcomed by the family viewers and most of the time, he is making hits out of these. But, in the case of the new project, I can't say so, due to the below 20% of the theater attendance for a saturday show.

OzhimuriSome times, fate decides the destiny in the life of an artist in an interesting manner; Take the case of Madhupal, who came to the industry as an assistant director to Rajiv Anchal. while working in 'Kashmeeram', in the absence of an actor, he was asked by his boss to do a negative role in it. After that he was forced to leave the passion of film making, as more and more characters came to his way. Lal received the best actor award for his lead role in it.
