Total RecallThe title of the new hollywood release, 'Total Recall' is familiar to us, as it is the name of a movie that got released two decades ago. That movie acted by Arnold Schwarzenegger, was a science fiction one. The trailers of the new venture showed that it might also carry a fictional theme, different from the older version.

The story of the movie happens in the future period. The year discussed here is 2084. The movie is based on a short story by Philip K. Dick, 'We can remember it for you wholesale'. The after effects of the bio-chemical war had made the majority of the places in the earth, a homeless place for human beings. The only place to remain unaffected is United Federation of Britain and a crowded Colony (feel like a place in Japan, Thailand or Korea), where the workers stays. The passengers uses a machine called 'The Fall', to travel between these two places.

Arnold's 'Total Recall' also deals with the future period story with a connection link between the Earth and Mars. Here theTotal Recall director had took that base plot to create two separate entities, one being a place in Britain and another, a colony near Australia, where humans exists. As every action movie, here also there is war, but the cause of such a phenomenon is not mentioned properly. For an average viewer like me, the movie raises some questions. The reason for chasing the hero and his fights were not clearly understood. I watched the whole episode, like a three year old watching a cartoon series.

The 'separate' world created by the Arts department and the visual effects team is extraordinary. The trains, the separate vehicle like 'The Fall' and even the lifts look different, but when we go through the busy township, it has got a Japanese style, on the other hand, the interiors of rooms and offices gave an US atmosphere. The cars are designed in a notable manner, but they still travel through roads, even though they are not having wheels. The chasing sequences are done well.

If you are too adamant in watching an extreme action fantasy subject from hollywood, then you can go for Total Recall.
