Some people says, if you are born in an actor family, it is as simple as that to enter the movie industry and to get lot of projects to become a star hero later, living in the hearts of thousands of people. But, that is not at all correct in the case of young actor Arunkumar alias Arun Vijay. He was born as the son of actor Vijayakumar. His step mother Manjula is an actress, his half - sisters  Vanitha, Preetha and Sreedevi have also acted in many movies. But, the actor in his 17 years career has done only 18 movies, but still struggles to attain a position in the industry, where there is lot of space for heroes.

Arun Vijay started his acting career in 1995, did some notable movies like 'Priyam', 'Pandavar Bhoomi' etc; the energetic actor, who is versatile in doing action and dance sequences, is a competent performer also, still he is not familiar to a majority of the audiences (taking the case of malayalees). Hence it proves the requirement of some unknown factors, which can make an actor successful.

N.S.Mohan, the producer of recent couple of movies acted by Arun like 'Malai Malai' and 'Maanja Velu', has produced his new venture under the banner Feather Touch Entertainment. He happened to the father - in - law of the actor. The movie is directed by Magizh Thirumeni, a former associate to Gautham Menon. He has done a movie like 'Mundhinam Parthene' before. Mamta Mohandas is the heroine, here previous tamil movie was 'Guru En Aalu' with Madhavan, happened a three years ago.

Selva (Arun Vijay) is a travel agent in Chennai. He loves Priya (Mamta Mohandas), both are planning to get married. Selva came across the local dons Maha (Maha Gandhi) and his brother Kumar (Vamsi Krishna), to solve an incident related to his friend. His normal life is affected, when a murder has happened in the following days.

The attraction of the movie lies in its presentation. The writer - director Magizh Thirumeni had neatly blended the good action mood here, without projecting the aggressive nature of the hero or any extra dramatic show by the villains. The humor oriented situation happening between the hero and the friends felt good. The addition of two songs only for the movie, that too compromising the marketing side, proves that the creator wants to tell the story without any unwanted gimmicks. The story traveling through few twists and turns keep the audiences engaged, all the time. How ever, a more concrete reason might have been given for the hero to act brutally, in the later areas.

Arun Vijay has given a brilliant show here. Hope, this role brings more offers to him. Mamta has performed well. Maha Gandhi and the young Vamsi Krishna excels in the villain roles. Cinematographer Sukumar ('Mynaa' fame) has given some rich visuals, creating the real action mood. Editors Praveen - Sreekanth team gave a decent job. Songs by Thaman.S are not memorable, the item song by L.R.Eshwari has got the flavor of his own 'Kalashala...' number from 'Osthi'. The bg score helped to create the required tempo. One of the leading action directors in the country, Anal Arasu has given some energetic stunt sequences in his style.

With a different presentation style, Thadaiyara Thaakka is a recommended one for lovers of action thrillers.
