A movie having Indrajith in the lead role with the title 'Mullamottum Munthirichaarum' cannot guarantee much...
Expectations :
Nothing particular; if its a must, then you can add the following to the list;
New director Anish Anwar (former assistant of Joshi and leo Thadheus);
New script writer Biju K.Joseph;
Indrajith in lead role;
Thilakan;
Meghna Raj after 'Beautiful' and 'Namukku Parkkan';
Ananya's presence in the middle of her marriage controversies;
Title of the movie.
Positives :
Excellent cinematography by Sujith Vasudev ('City of God', 'College Days' fame), the night visuals and the romantic song need special mention;
Thilakan, even though the character has got shades of his own role in 'Mrigaya';
Indrajith in the lead role, a Mohanlal hangover is evident in drunken scenes in the beginning;
Opening sequence of the movie;
The hero's job as snake catcher mentioned through the words only, without showing the visuals
Negatives :
Story of the movie;
The climax is too childish;
The characters of two sisters and their behavior in the story felt dramatic and unrealistic;
The character of the hero is not neatly defined, the story projects him as a snake catcher, but nothing has been shown here regarding such a job, also his attitude changes from time to time;
The romance episode is an intentional one;
Ananya's role is a replica of Revathi in 'Varavelppu';
Tini Tom is getting many roles these days, he needs to concentrate more on the dialogue delivery;
Bg score by Mohan Sitara does not match the mood, the music loop used in the scene featuring Ananya and Indrajith, felt boring and has been repeated on many occasions and songs by hims are below average.
