It is almost 10years since the hindi erotic thriller 'Jism' got released. The producer of that particular movie, actress Pooja Bhatt, had decided to direct its sequel. She has placed Sunny Leone in lead role. To be honest, I have not heard about this girl before, but the team behind were successful in giving maximum hype for this Canadian pornographic actress through media. A friend of mine even told that he is not interested in watching 'Jism 2', as he have seen some porn videos of its main heroine !
Last week end, the movie got released in a couple of big theaters in the city. But, I was damn sure that such a wide release and the presence of a porn star in a second rated hindi project, won't create any interest for an average malayalee viewer. Since, such a project came from the creative team of 'Murder', 'Jism', 'Raaz', 'Kalyug', 'Sur' etc; we can't avoid it blindly. The movie is produced by Pooja Bhatt and Dino Morea. As a director, Pooja had given movies like 'Paap', 'Dhokha', 'Holiday' and 'Kajraare', none of
them were hits.
The intelligence wing is asking a high profile prostitute (Sunny Leone) to grab the highly secrete data owned by a dreadful criminal. She came to know that the bad guy was once her lover. The investigation officer gave her the green signal to romance the guy once again and to marry him, to finish the mission. She is now caught in between the criminal and the police.
Though the movie is colorful with some stunning visuals by the cinematographer Nigam Bomzan, the presentation of the story by the lady director is hopeless and unprofessional, most of the time. She should have seek her father's (Mahesh Bhatt) help or uncle's (Vikram Bhatt) help to prepare the correct cuisine. Here, nothing is serious. Most of the time, scenes are lagging due to the placement of lengthy shots. The story deals with a big criminal, but no negative activities by him are shown in a
detailed manner. A short cut method like describing the whereabouts of the villain through the words of the IB officers, is not easy to digest. Even, in a scene, the officer tells that the criminal had killed 200 people in a bomb blast on the previous day, like that there are many scenes that are done in a childish manner, in short a very big story has been managed by four characters only.
The main attraction of such a movie, should be its heroine. In this case, Sunny Leone has added more negative effect to the environment, in addition to the bad presentation of the movie. She is horrible to watch, acts like a wooden block and altogether failed to create an appealing effect. During the erotic and temptation sequences, the viewers won't feel odd about her, but the director had failed to mix such scenes (it is the attractive part of such movies!) in a correct proportion.
The music credit of 'Jism 2' goes to Arko Pravo Mukherjee, Mithoon, Rushk, Abdul Baasith Saed and Vickey Goswami. A couple of songs felt good for the mood. Don't know, who did the bg score, any way it is not a great piece of job. Randeep Hooda, who came from the RGV camp, is suited well for the lead, but he is not given the correct tips to shine well. Arunoday Singh, the tall fashionable guy, did a notable appearance. He is over emotional in few areas. The ending of the movie is too dramatic and predictable.
